About Us
Music and Dance Society (MAD) first started in 1974 with contemporary dance before diversifying to include other dance genres. At present, it comprises 3 divisions, namely Modern, Hip-hop, and Bboy (or breakdance).

more updates for dance night 09!

hellohello! :D

hey people, okay here are some stuff on dance night '09 that all of you guys should take note of:

1. The 3 rules for allocation of items. Applies to all madders, j1s and j2s alike. This is to ensure a fair allocation of dancers for each item and to reduce the possiblity of overcommitment and overlapping during dance night itself.

1) Dancer of a particular division must do at least one item from his/her own division.
2) Instructors' item will be taken up by pure-div dancers (except for modern).
3) Each dancer can only take up a maximum of 3 items (for now) in total.


2. FOR CHOREOGRAPHERS: Our date for review of choreography, music, in-item blocking and usage of props will be 28 February. Venues and time to be confirmed. Please note that we need to see the choreographies tight and sweet by that day because, once we drag that into march, then we might have to wave goodbye to blocks.


3. Some dates you guys have to take note of:
- 28 Feb: 1st choreos review session.
- Mar: J1s to start learning instructors' choreographies.
- Late Mar - Apr: Entire MAD to be in a state of high alertness - chiong practices all the way :D
- 2 May: 1st SALT Run. (Entire performance to be out!)
- 5, 6 May: 1st 2 days to do blocking in audi.
...
- 22, 23 May: Dance Night actual day! (22 night, 23 afternoon, 23 night)


You guys should know the theme of our dance night this yr alr (: Do suggest catchphrases to our dear president if you can think of anything interesting :D

Please DO NOT disclose any information regarding dance night to any outsiders for obvious reasons. Hope you guys can treat this point seriously.
