HELLO!!!
there's an upcoming dance production by SMU Eurhythmix and one of our ex-snrs, huiyan, is performing. she's a real zai dancer if you guys have heard of her =ppp anw details of the production are as follows,
Production name: DANCE GARAGE
Date: 11/12 July
Time: 8pm (for both days)
Venue: Victoria Theatre
Price: $20 (free seating)
It's going to be pure hiphop (including funkstyles and newschool hiphop as well)and the main choreographers are Ryan and Gin from Oschool :) Quite zai too.
so if you are interested, pls tell me by this coming mon, 1st june and pass me the money. thank you =)

TO J1s:there has been feedback that quite a lot of you guys can't make it on the dates we have proposed for elections. so please make your way to the yahoo groups to vote for which date you'd prefer elections to be held on.

ELECTIONS!$BlogItemTitle$>
HELLOHELLO. this is probably gonna be one of my last posts on this blog as MAD secretary. *sniffsniffs*
ANYWAY i'm here to update you juniors on MAD EXCO 08-09 ELECTIONS!!! :D
NEXT MONDAY (26/5) J1s be prepared to COME BACK TO SCHOOL at 9.30AM for a briefing on elections! it is on this day that you guys will choose which posts you'll be running for. you will be given 2 choices, but you can also choose to run for just one position.
details about this meeting will be released later when we manage to book the venue. :)
here is a list of the positions available in the exco, as well as a brief summary of their workscope:
president and vice-president:-oversees the big picture of MAD's needs and problems
-overall in charge of discipline and welfare
-liase with other CCAs or external organisations for collaborations or public performances
treasurer:-in charge of MAD funds, NOT ONLY for DanceNight, but for everyday things like instructor fees, equipment etc. etc.
-accounts to school and teachers what the funds are being used for
-reimburses, allocates funding amongst divisions
secretary:-TAKES MINUTES.
-the link to all divisions: needs to keep in constant contact with each division to be updated on any problems being faced or any new needs that need to be taken care of.
-in charge of contacts, collating and updating the contacts of every MADder
-overall in charge of MADders' attendance
-in charge of maintaining blog, yahoo groups, MAD forums
division heads:-in charge of choreography of the division items (does not necessarily have to choreo EVERYTHING himself/herself; can choose to delegate choreography to others!)
-leads warm-up and self-pracs (i.e. any self-pracs without instructors)
-main communicator with the division instructor
-makes important decisions for the division (probably with the instructor) e.g. which performances to take up etc.
**NOTE THAT DIVISION HEADS WILL BE REQUIRED TO COME UP WITH AT LEAST 1 MINUTE WORTH OF CHOREOGRAPHY TO SHOWCASE ON FRIDAY(30/5).division assistant heads:-collecting division funds
-attendance taking and maintainence
-individually chasing division members :P
-disseminating of information to members (i.e. maintaining good communication with members)
AND
in addition to all the admin work assistant heads have to take care of, next year, we are implementing an extra NEW role to these people! THE ROLE OF QUARTERMASTER/QUARTERMISTRESS.
this means to say that the division assistant heads will also be in charge of
CLEANLINESS of practice venues! :D
**ALSO, PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL MADders running for exco are required to come up with a speech to address your fellow MADders during the elections process. it doesn't need to be terribly long, if you prefer, just a short, impactful one will do. mention whatever you'd like your MADders to hear or know about yourselves, e.g. why you are running for exco, what you can and will do for MAD, what problems you'll address etc etc.
NEXT FRIDAY (30/5) will be the ELECTIONS DAY. it will be a day of speeches, interviews, and showcasing of choreos, and YES, it WILL be a long day. in the event that it drags too late, we will require you guys to keep
Saturday morning (31/5) FREE to finish your interview/showcase. sorry about that. :x
JUNIORS WHO WILL NOT BE IN SINGAPORE ON EITHER OF THESE DAYS, please please let your division heads know ASAP. preferably as soon as you read this. we will make the necessary arrangements for you guys as long as you still want to run for exco. :) DON'T WORRY you won't miss out just because you're flying somewhere! :D
so, as a gentle reminder, PLEASE REMEMBER TO DECIDE what you want to run for by MONDAY, and get your SPEECHES and CHOREOGRAPHY (for div head wannabes) READY by FRIDAY! i know it's quite a rush for you guys, BUT we believe you can do it!

WE DID IT.WE SHOOK THE STAGE!THE AUDIENCES LOVED IT!WE SHOWED THE SCHOOL HOW IMBA WE ARE.and most importantly, we created a memory which I believe everyone will remember for life.
Chinese Dance was GREAT too, SHAKE! wont have been so successful without them!
For the j2s, our last performing together as MAD, our last dance night in
hwa chong. I believe it all ended with a BANG. (:
Still remember one week ago during our first full run, things screwed up, items were undone, not cleaned, everybody got demoralised and we doubted if we can do it. But yesterday, we proved everyone, proved ourselves that we are GREAT, that we worth far far far more than just merely 7 bucks!
The past few months were not easy for most of us, sleeping through all lectures, accumulation of undone tutorials, parent's nags and complains,
shagness from late
pracs etc etc... but the past 2 days just made everything worthwhile. I am
really really proud of every single one of you, for making all these possible, for making my last event in MAD such a wonderful one (: THANK YOU so much!!
SHAKE! has ended, but our passion and love for dance will never end. For the J1s, keep improving yourself, working on your performing quality and achieve even greater heights for dance night 2009, MAD will soon be in your hands (: As for my fellow J2s, WE WILL CONTINUE DANCING AND POPPING BY
RUA/SALT/PE
OKAYYYY (even if we are just going there to mug), NEVER STOP DANCING!!!

HELLO!
just SOME updates! DANCE NIGHT is just
4 days away! im sure you guys are all geared up for the show! for many of us, we may be facing a lot of pressure from our parents and teachers, but continue to stay strong cos this friday we would show that all the late submission of hw n late nights are all well worth cos it's GONNA BE A FABULOUS SHOW!! AND I MEAN IT! IT's GONNA BE IMBA! COS TT'S WHAT WE ARE! AND I WANT YOU ALL TO BELIEVE IN IT AND WORK HARD TOWARDS IT! =DD
well now for the update!
tmr is our full run at audi. that means make up, costumes and hair to be done.
boys just foundation will do. you wna style your hair or what, i leave it to the item ics.
girls, make up is more complicated. must have eyeliner, eye shadow - dark colours with silver (unless otherwise specified by your item ics) and of cos lip stick n blush. Hair- up to item ics.
your costumes, pls look after them cos on sat things were rather messy and i have pp taking others' costumes and cases of missing costumes. it would be good if we can label our costumes? so that you can be sure that you are not taking someone else's clothes etc.
pls report to audi after lessons to warm up and do your make up and hair for your first item. most pp should be there by 4 pm. for those who are doing tec run, pls report at the allocated time slot.
on wed, we would be showcasing our full dress to the school! tix are priced at 4 bucks each so do ask your friends down if they couldn't get the tix. sale of tix will be at the door, from 6 pm onwards. the performance would start at 7pm. so they must try to get seated by 645. though it's a FULL DRESS, we should treat it as the ACTUAL PERFORMANCE and give it our BEST! the crowd may be small, but we must still TOUCH THEIR HEARTS AND IMPACT THEM.
everyone must report by 315 at the audi, then we will have a short briefing, followed by a run (most likely half marking) then dinner and the actual show itself.
this week many of us will be gg home late, so do let your parents know lest they call up the school looking for you.
thur, there may be last min pracs for some items but most items should not be having prac. will keep you updated.
lastly, EAT WELL AND REST WELL (though there's not much time to). Drink plenty of water. =))

Due to time constrain, all items have been allocated a specific time slot each. so pls follow the schedule closely and be at the audi 15 mins before your allocated time slot.
