yups like jiayi said, hiphop auds will be NEXT WEEK. :)

basically, i'm here to IMPLORE you HIPHOPPERS out there to please try to MAKE YOURSELF AVAILABLE ON THESE TWO DAYS. :) sharon pointed out that as we have a large turnout this year, we need quite a lot of manpower to properly manage the people. it'll also be good to have HipHoppers involved in our own auditions, so at least:
1) you all know what's happening and
2) can have an insight into the kind of juniors you'll be dancing with in the months to come. ;)

this is basically what you guys will be doing:
-crowd control :)
-CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. do pop in to auditions rooms to check out the juniors. offer your opinions to the judges. have a say in who becomes the next generation of hiphoppers!
-moral support! the juniors will all probably be really nervous, so do give them encouragements to ease their nerves!

all in all, we'd just like everyone to be involved. :) and aware of what's happening.

people from other divisions are warmly welcomed to come down and help out as well! :D together we can show our juniors just how MAD we can be. ;)


OH yes. HipHoppers. just in case you don't know, there'll be Hiphop self-prac/sharing sessions EVERY WEDNESDAY after school. no instructors will be around. it'll be just... us. :) this week we had one, but because the message wasn't passed well enough, only 5 people turned up. hope to see more of you guys there!

any comfortable shirt and LONGS/BERMS(whichever you feel more comfortable in). **try not to come in FBTs, cuz it's hard to do some steps, especially floorwork, and sometimes you'll just look weird doing some moves in shorts.

ALL hiphoppers are STRONGLY URGED to come, including 2nd div hiphoppers!
BBOYs and other non-hiphoppers are most welcome too!

what we do
basic training: combined warmups, isolations, groove practices
the 'program' varies from time to time. we aim to do things like collaborative choreos, maybe some sessionings, freestyle pracs and so on. :)

many of us think it's a great initiative thought up by some of our very own hoppers and we hope everyone can support this idea and be enthusiastic about it. such self-pracs can really help to push our standards beyond our current "school-dance-group-level" standings and help us appreciate true hiphop culture. it's hard to tell now, but if we put in enough effort, who knows what we could get out of this. :D

in case you didn't hear the morning announcement today, the hip hop audition will be held next week on wed and Thur afternoons! On wed, the venues will be : a304, a305 and a307. On thur: a205, a206 and a207. The response so far is pretty good , we got about 60 plus almost 70 pple signing up in just one day, sweeeeeee(: Please inform your jnrs/frenz who are interested to join hip hop to sign up on the registration form on the cca notice board before next Mon, in case they didn't catch the morning announcement too.

One more thing, dance night dates are changed to the 16th and 17th May so division I/Cs pls work hard on the choreos, people in the division feel free to help out your div heads and give constructive inputs (: Fund raising activitis will be carried out soon, we will most probably be selling grass jelly during CNY, yup so may need people to come down and help. Will update the details soon! Okayy jiayou for pple involved in chinGAY , lets not be distracted by the cool costumes > <

If you haven't already know, I am so sorry to tell you that Chingay Prac this sat (12/1) is from 11am-4.30pm

The prac is so long because it is essentially two sessions, there is a break in between. (for how long i am not sure)

I know that a lot of you guys have other commitments but try to make it for this session, because we have to finish the choreography by this sat. If you can't make it this sat, we might have to take you out of Chingay because it is in a month's time.eeks.

well.. tmr is cca exhibition! so what's gna happen is that genting item will be put up tmr at 330 pm and breakers will have a showcase at 345 pm with ACSI guys!

dress code will be mad tee with any bottoms. dancers performing wear your respective dress code.

hey dancers! sorry for the confusion abt the items we are doing for cca exhibition.

it will be held on wed, from 3-5 pm at area outside audi. we will screening our inspire item as well as genting item. hiphop is putting up one new item and break one modified item.
For those not involved it would be great if you guys can hang around at the booth to help publicise. we will be giving out lolipops as souvenirs due to low budget.

Of cos, music will be played continuously and if you feel high n wna do your old dances, feel free to do so after break and hiphop display. yea tt's all! =)

ohoh. btw we won't be able to use the RUA on wed as it is booked by council so pls take care of your belongings!

Chingay Practice Times

28rd January Monday 5pm -> Rehearsal with Singapore Armed Forces, Music and Drama Society

30th January Wednesday 0730pm -> Combined Rehearsal With Floats

2nd February Saturday -> Full Dress Rehearsal with Media Preview (should be full day)

15th and 16th February Friday, Saturday -> Actual Chingay (also should be full day)

There's still a shirt left in one of the hotel rooms unclaimed. It's a white long-sleeved V-neck Giordano top. It's a girl's top unless I'm terribly mistaken. If anyone lost it or know whose it is please tell me hahas having girls' clothes hanging in my wardrobe is a little... strange... xD

SORRY for the confusion. MADE A GREAT MISTAKE. NJC is not part of Chingay oops. I think i heard mr dan wrongly. My fault sorry for the boohoo.
Anyway, we need 50 people in total for Chingay for Hwa Chong, around 40 girls 10 guys.
Chingay will be held on the 15th and 16th of February which is 6 weeks from now. So the practices are relatively few.
