About Us
Music and Dance Society (MAD) first started in 1974 with contemporary dance before diversifying to include other dance genres. At present, it comprises 3 divisions, namely Modern, Hip-hop, and Bboy (or breakdance).

M.A.D.

MAD modern dance, GOLD WITH HONOURS.

we did ourselves proud, mr dan proud, ms chen/ms chin proud, the whole of MAD proud. pulled it all together in those 7 minutes - all the lifts went up, all our props worked out, all our timing was right, everything fell into place, everything was perfect. for our unity and our genuine & overwhelming want, it's well deserved. a milestone for modern dance in hwachong! go us =)

haha we are a bit A.A. la. but think about it. from silver to goldwithhonours, from not being valued in hwachong to being important, from 8 seniors to an entourage of 35, from half-hearted dancers to totally devoted ones.. we've come a long way!

and to the non-modern divisions of MAD..

be proud too! cuz this isn't just for modern. we get this award, we get more say in the school, more influence, and hopefully more $$$! it was an investment concentrated in one division of MAD, but the rewards, we all can reap.

give us time, in a while we'll get our additional funding for costumes, instructors, maybe venues.. you never know. it's a stepping stone for us for even greater things to come, so look forward to it! for now, be happy, and we'll push towards a successful dancenight too.
