About Us
Music and Dance Society (MAD) first started in 1974 with contemporary dance before diversifying to include other dance genres. At present, it comprises 3 divisions, namely Modern, Hip-hop, and Bboy (or breakdance).

Me again.

Wah my 3rd consecutive post here. SOMEONE ELSE POST leh.

Okay. Currently we've been seperated from our seniors for so long, and even hiphop/modern have been seperated cause of SYF/Danceworks, soooo we need an outing!

Nicholas and I were talking about it yesterday, so currently the date of the outing is next Tuesday, 5th Dec. Modern has practice 9-12, hiphop has practice 12-130. Sooo we were thinking meet at 2.15pm at Marina Square for lunch together? Then we'll be bowling! So bring your socks too!

I think we'll be informing everyone via sms sometime today.

While I'm at it, I might as well update again.

1. SYF

The modern people have hired Mr. Dan as their instructor... I don't really know much what is happening haha so someone else has to update! We've taken in NY modern dance juniors. So far I've seen ladders, briefcases, and a possible door for props.

2. Danceworks

I don't know what happened, but in the end hiphop and break decided to go for Danceworks. All the non-modern hiphop people should be participating, along with 6-7 breakers. Choreography is by Ms Chen (hur-hur) We've had highly amusing sessions where everybody screams a lot cause Ms Chen tries to get guys to do lifting stunts with us and some of them are just near impossibility (like do a backflip? huh?!?!!) The music used are "Tipsy" by J-Kwon, "Give it Up to Me" by Sean Paul and Keisha Cole (this song is damn addictive), and "Petrified" by Fort Minor.

3. Dance Night

Yea, even though we're going for SYF and Danceworks, we're also going for a combined Dance Night with Chinese Dance. Tentatively, the date of Dance Night is 1-2 June, and venue is at the Chinese High Drama Centre cause we got no money to afford anywhere else. Oh yes and seniors! You guys get an alumni item! Hopefully Hui Yan can also come back and help us choreograph one item next year =)
